| Directions
to La Tourelle by car
From
Toulouse, follow directions for Castres/Albi (A61), then
take the péage (A68) also in the direction of Castres/Albi. Take
the Castres exit and follow all signs for Castres (passing through
Puylaurens), continuing on to the ring road at the town centre
(about an hour from Toulouse). Follow this round (crossing the
bridge over the river) and then take the road off to the right
sign-posted Brassac (you’ll pass the Mazamet turn just before
this one). Just before you get out of Castres (having continued on
for a mile or so over a roundabout and a few sets of lights)
there’s a big new supermarket down to the left called Super-U.
Take the Brassac exit of this roundabout (first exit) and keep
straight on for several miles.
Look out for the D30 (sharp right turn) that will be
sign-posted for Anglès, just before Brassac. Take this and carry
on over a crossroad and straight into the small village of Le Bez.
Turn right at the T-junction and carry on for a few more miles
(another 15 minutes). Just before you reach the village of Anglès,
you will see La Tourelle on the left with the pool to the front.
At this point you’ve probably just missed the entrance to the
drive so carry on to the village
and turn round !! (Toulouse – Anglès approx 1H45).
From
Montpellier, take the A9 autoroute toward Carcassonne/Beziers,
exiting the péage at the Beziers-ouest junction. From here follow
signs for Mazamet/Castres on the N112.
This will take you via St. Chinian to Saint Pons de Thomières.
At the roundabout in the town take the exit sign-posted Mazamet
and then follow this road through to Lacabarède. Half way through
this town there will be a right turn sign posted Anglès (easy to
miss so look out for it carefully!). Take this turn and follow the
road about another twenty minutes until you get to a T-Junction
opposite the village square in Anglès. Turn left and continue out
of the village. After about half a mile you will see La Tourelle
on the right with the pool to the front. (Montpellier – Anglès
approx 1H50)
From
Carcassonne, you have no choice but to turn right out of
the airport so do this and then double back at the roundabout
along the same road (passing the airport again) and then turn left
at the next roundabout following all signs to Mazamet. Continue on
the D118 all the way to Mazamet. Carry on straight through Mazamet
following signs for Beziers. As you reach the other side of town
you should reach a roundabout with a McDonalds on your right hand
side. Turn right here and 100 m further down is a left turn for
Pont de L’Arn (and route des lacs). Take this road and once past
Pont de L’Arn you’ll take a sharp right turn (signed Anglès)
followed by a left turn at a T-junction. Follow the road for
several miles where you’ll need to take a left turn at a
T-junction just after a bridge with a small lake on your left.
Take this then carry on passing through Le Rialet and Buisset.
There’ll be a further right turn
– take this and continue for ten minutes. Just before you reach
the village of Anglès, you will see La Tourelle on the left with
the pool to the front. At this point you’ve probably just missed
the entrance to the drive so carry on to the village and turn
round !!
(Carcassonne – Anglès approx 1H20).
From
the Millau Bridge (A75).
Take the first exit after the bridge for St. Afrique. Follow all
signs for St Afrique (passing Roquefort) and continue through the
town centre on the D999 (also signposted Albi). Follow the D999
for several miles and then take a left turn on the D32 for
Belmont/Lacaune. Follow all signs for Lacaune (passing Belmont)
and then head through the town centre and follow the main road for
Brassac. Just after the bridge in Brassac you will see a left turn
for Anglès – take this and continue for 15 minutes (passing
through Le Bez) all the way to Anglès. La Tourelle is just
outside the village on the left with pool to the front.
